BET initially banned this video, as apparently critical thinking is exceedingly more dangerous to impressionable young minds than cocaine selling, stripping, and Black on Black gun bussing. Even more intriguing (or sinister and revelatory, depending on your orientation), fellow Viacom network MTV Jams has this clip (albeit heavily edited) in rotation. Censorship decisions such as this only elucidate the many ways that Black and Brown youth are intentionally targeted for dummification. To quote Mike’s fellow Dungeon Family alumni Cee-lo, “the only thing a conspiracy can’t withstand is exposure”.
